Reasons to Suspend a Case
A case may be suspended by the Intake team for the following
reasons:
- If
more time is needed to obtain a copy of an existing support order. For procedures and more information,
refer to the CASE INITIATION sections of policy.
- If
requesting a copy of a Utah Voluntary Acknowledgement of Paternity by
Parents (VDP) because paternity information is not currently available.
- If
there is evidence of out-of-state paternity documentation establishing
paternity.
In addition, a Children in Care (CIC) case may be suspended by an
Intake team to include the time necessary for the child(ren) to be in a
chargeable placement on the first day of the month and/or to obtain a copy of
an existing support order or juvenile court order for the child(ren) in
care.
